Terms & Conditions

1. Introduction

These terms and conditions govern the provision of plumbing, heating, and related services by Julian Paul Plumbing & Heating, operated by Julian Humphrey ("we", "us", "our") to you, the customer ("you", "your").

By requesting, accepting, or using our services, you agree to be bound by these terms. Please read them carefully before engaging our services.

2. Services

We provide plumbing, heating, gas, and related services including but not limited to boiler installation and repair, central heating systems, gas safety inspections, bathroom plumbing, underfloor heating, unvented hot water systems, pool heating, and emergency plumbing.

All gas work is carried out by Gas Safe registered engineers (Registration No: 232202). You can verify our registration at gasssaferegister.co.uk.

We reserve the right to decline any work that we deem unsafe, impractical, or outside our areas of expertise.

3. Quotations & Pricing

All quotations are provided free of charge and are valid for 30 days from the date of issue, unless otherwise stated.

Quoted prices are based on the information available at the time of the survey or assessment. Should additional work be discovered during the course of a job that was not apparent at the time of quoting, we will inform you immediately and provide a revised quote before proceeding.

Prices include labour and materials unless otherwise specified. VAT will be applied where applicable and clearly stated on all invoices.

4. Payment Terms

Payment is due upon completion of the work unless alternative arrangements have been agreed in writing prior to the commencement of work.

For larger projects, we may require a deposit before work commences. The deposit amount and payment schedule will be agreed in writing before any work begins.

We accept payment by bank transfer, cash, and card. Late payments may be subject to interest in accordance with the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998.

5. Guarantees & Warranties

All workmanship is guaranteed for a minimum of 12 months from the date of completion.

Manufacturer warranties apply to all parts and materials installed and are subject to the manufacturer's own terms and conditions. As Vaillant Accredited Installers, we can offer up to 7-year manufacturer guarantees on selected Vaillant boilers.

Guarantees do not cover damage caused by misuse, neglect, failure to follow operating instructions, unauthorised modifications, or general wear and tear.

To make a warranty claim, please contact us as soon as possible with details of the issue.

6. Cancellations

You may cancel a booking at any time. However, if cancellation occurs less than 24 hours before a scheduled appointment, we reserve the right to charge a reasonable cancellation fee to cover costs incurred.

In accordance with the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, where services are agreed at your home or by distance communication, you have a 14-day cooling-off period from the date of agreement. If you request that work begins within this period, you may be liable for the cost of any work already carried out should you subsequently cancel.

7. Access & Property

You agree to provide us with reasonable access to the areas where work is to be carried out, including adequate working space, water supply, and electricity where required.

We will take all reasonable care to protect your property during the course of our work. We use dust sheets and protective coverings as standard. However, some disruption may be unavoidable, particularly during larger installations.

We are fully covered by public liability insurance. In the unlikely event of accidental damage to your property caused by our work, please notify us immediately so that we can arrange for it to be rectified.

8. Liability

Our liability is limited to the cost of the services provided. We shall not be liable for any indirect, consequential, or incidental losses arising from our services.

Nothing in these terms shall exclude or limit our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.

9. Complaints

We take all complaints seriously. If you are dissatisfied with any aspect of our service, please contact us in the first instance so that we can resolve the matter directly.

If we are unable to resolve your complaint to your satisfaction, you may refer the matter to a relevant ombudsman or alternative dispute resolution service.

10. Governing Law

These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from these terms or our services shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

If any provision of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
